Tolbooth – Doors Open Day

Saturday 21st  September, 10.30 – 4pm

Come see our building!

The Tolbooth is a ‘Category A’ Listed building dating from the early 1700s and is an exceptionally good example of a burgh tolbooth. It has been a municipal centre, courthouse, jail, workhouse and army recruitment centre. Although converted 200 years after its construction, it retains substantial 18th and 19th century interior decoration. It is now a thriving arts and music venue.

Visitors are welcome to come in and wander around the public areas of the venue between 10:30-4pm today.

Our café bar will be serving food and drinks and our exhibition will also be OPEN from 10-5pm if you want to make a full day out of it!
