At the start of July, The Scottish Government confirmed that museums and galleries could reopen from 15th July, along with other visitor attractions, provided physical distancing and other measures such as pre-booked ticketing were in place. Here at Tolbooth we were delighted that it is once again deemed safe for us to open our Gallery, but we decided that rather than open immediately on the 15 , we would take some time to understand how we could best implement these new measures, taking into consideration the logistical challenges specific to a listed building like Tolbooth and create as safe and welcoming an environment as possible for our staff and visitors, while adhering to Government Guidelines.
We are thrilled to share the news that we will now re-open our doors for Tolbooth Gallery on August 25th with an exhibition by GOSSIP. We have been busy behind the scenes, ensuring your safety is taken care of so that you can relax and enjoy visiting us once again. We would like to share with you some of the changes that will be in place when you next choose to visit.
It’s important to note that while we can re-open and operate Tolbooth Gallery, under the current guidelines, the other elements of Tolbooth such as live music, and classes will remain closed until further notice. We will continue to update you on these areas as we receive more information and government guidance. Our priority, as always, is for the safety of our staff and our wonderful customers.
