THREE RIVERS RISING
The Water of Leith, The Tay and the Forth, are a constant source of inspiration for storytellers Svend-Erik Engh, Claire Hewitt and musician Neil Sutcliffe. ‘Three Rivers Rising’ celebrates the history, folklore, and music inspired by these rivers and their importance to the people of Scotland: from the industrial past of the Forth Estuary, to the birds, beasts and fish of the Tay, and the thronging, city banks of the Water of Leith. The story speaks of environmentalism and the strong social identity of these waterways- they are the arteries of the land, the ancient highways and trading routes, and have been a solace and comfort to people living around them for generations.
