It has been 45 years since the world was first introduced to all-female 2Tone trailblazers The Bodysnatchers. Despite only releasing two official 7″ singles, their influence on UK culture and music continues to inspire to this day.
Highly regarded as a pioneering act of the 2Tone movement, the band frequently toured with the likes of Madness, The Selecter and Toots & The Maytals. Their iconic single ‘Let’s Do Rocksteady’ charted in the top 20 and was even performed on Top of The Pops.
Since the band disbanded, Rhoda forged an impressive career forming The Special AKA with Jeremy Dammers. The band are mostly noted for their top 10 hit ‘Free Nelson Mandela’, as well as the harrowing ‘The Boiler’, which Pitchfork has since stated as “2Tone’s most courageous, audacious moment”. After countless tours and a string of very well received albums, Rhoda most recently released Version Girl which was a top 10 record in 2023!
