Acoustic Show – Headline + support from Quitter
Tolbooth Café Bar
Songwriter Nora Predey from Austin, Texas-based Folk band Large Brush Collection will play an intimate solo set of music in the Tolbooth Café Bar. Constant Follower’s Stephen McAll caught them when they played SXSW Festival in Austin earlier this year and immediately made moves to bring them over to play Golden Hum. Stephen says “I stumbled across the band when they played the Chill Phases stage at SXSW and was instantly grabbed by Nora’s unique style of songwriting. Definitely a highlight of the festival for me. It’s a great priviledge to be able to bring Nora to Stirling to play an intimate set for us at the Tolbooth.”
“Known for their intelligent, heartbreaking lyrics and tenderness… Large Brush Collection can render an emotionally artful orchestration — the space in which they allow lyrics to bend with flute solos and bass pockets is serene and contemplative.” – Eryn Brothers, OVRLD
Support from Quitter:
Quitter a.k.a. Kenny Bates sets an alt. singer-songwriter core in a noisy yet emotive musical landscape. The music is flavoured by 90s US indie and lo-fi recording practices, dissonance and melody battling for dominance. Performing live with just an electric guitar and a few sparse drum machine loops, there’s plenty space for the songs’ confessional storytelling to unfurl.
