PAST EVENT – Mural Design and Painting Workshop

As part of our year of celebrations we have commissioned local artist, and founder of ‘The Cube’ – a global participatory arts project – Mia McGregor, to create a new Mural at Tolbooth.  The Mural will be painted on a non-listed external wall at Tolbooth, and will be the first things visitors see when they approach Tolbooth’s entrance.  The mural design will recognise the uniqueness of the building, it’s place in the community and the vibrant music, art and educational experiences that happen within.

Mia will lead on the mural creation, but we would like the creative input of local young people to help develop the design and paint the final piece.   We have 10 places available for a FREE mural workshop on 11^th and 12^th April, and those interested should contact [email protected], with ‘mural’ in the email title.  We are particularly interested in hearing from young people who live in The Top of Town.

In 2022 Tolbooth turns 20 years old.   To celebrate we’ll be hosting a series of 20 special events across the year, ranging from music, art, film, festivals and workshops. Each of these events will be listed on our Festivals page, check back as we’ll be announcing more soon!
