Shindig Is Back – Cloth will be streaming live on our facebook page on THURSDAY 5th NOVEMBER at 7pm
Tolbooth Shindig is a series of concerts that have been filmed live in Tolbooth Stirling, and will be broadcast weekly on a Thursday from Tolbooth Facebook. They are free to enjoy, and until we can all come together again in Tolbooth for some live music, we hope you will join us each Thursday to experience some excellent performances. For those of you who can’t make it for the broadcast, the concerts will be available here to be watched back for 72 hours after the broadcast.
Delivering angular alt-rock cut through with deep electronic grooves, Cloth are a Glasgow three-piece comprising twins Rachael and Paul Swinton, and Clare Gallacher.
Recently featured on the soundtrack for BBC Three/Hulu’s ‘Normal People’, the band have recorded a BBC Music Introducing session at Maida Vale Studios and performed sessions for the likes of Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music and Vic Galloway on BBC Radio Scotland. Cloth were playlisted on 6 Music this June and have received airplay from Elbow’s Guy Garvey (“I’ve been playing this album to death, I love it”), Lauren Laverne, Mary Anne Hobbs and Stuart Maconie, among others.
Having played across the UK including a sold out show in London’s The Sebright Arms and a slot on the Creative Scotland Showcase bill at The Great Escape Festival, Cloth returned to London in March 2020 on the invite of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, for a headline show as part of his ‘Huw Stephens Presents…’ series.
Released on the 15th of November 2019, the eponymous debut album is out now, and was nominated and shotlisted for The Scottish Album Of The Year 2020
