+ Support from JOE GOODALL
Broken Records are Jamie Sutherland (Guitar, Vocals), Rory Sutherland (Organ, Piano, Synths, Loops, Violin), Ian Turnbull (Guitar, Organ, Piano), Craig Ross (Guitar), Andrew Keeney (Drums, Percussion), and Clarissa Cheong (Bass Guitar).
Like every other band on the planet, the activities of Scotland’s sextet Broken Records has been somewhat thwarted these last few years, making their upcoming run of Autumn UK dates, in support of their forthcoming fifth album The Dreamless Sleep of the 1990s, their first live shows since 2018. It’s a most welcome return from a band who have long been respected by music critics and fans alike as purveyors of stadium worthy stirring and anthemic indie-rock.
Emerging in the early 00’s Broken Records were naturally compared to the rising indie bands of that time, the NME coined them “the Scottish Arcade fire” whilst similarities could be made to Broken Records and their 4AD label mates The National – both with emotive soul baring indie-rock songs crafted from folk melodies, sung by frontmen with commanding baritones, and both rising the grassroots way, by touring and building a loyal fanbase.
Support from Joe Goodall – Joe is an 18 year old up and coming musician from Stirling. Since forming a band with his school mates 2 years ago, Joe and his band have released two singles as well as played major events and festivals and many more headline gigs on the cards too. Uplifting, exciting and energetic showmanship combined with rock/pop driven melodies, Joe Goodall is an artist who’s career is very much on the cusp of taking off.
