Monday evenings – Tolbooth Traditional Music Workshops (FREE)

We would love you to come and join our YMI funded traditional workshops at the Tolbooth.  The workshops are held weekly (during term time) and are delivered by professional performing musicians who are excellent and experienced tutors.  No previous experience of Scottish Traditional Music is required. The workshops offer the opportunity to play as part of small groups, rather than individual tuition.  This creates a fantastic opportunity to meet other young musicians and to learn together in a fun, relaxed and social music environment.

Open to children and young people aged 9 – 18 who attend a Stirling Council school.

Tutors: Daniel Thorpe (fiddle and whistle), Katie Allen (fiddle and guitar) and Mike Bryan (guitar) plus guest tutors through the year

Beginners and Improvers group lessons in fiddle (violin), guitar and whistle: 5.30pm – 6.15pm Intermediate session (any traditional instrument welcome): 6.30pm – 7.15pm
Trad Band (advanced session – any traditional instrument wecome): 7.15pm – 8.15pm

We would love you to come and join our YMI funded jazz workshops at the Tolbooth.  The workshops are held weekly (during term time) and are delivered by two professional jazz musicians who are excellent and experienced tutors.  No previous experience of jazz is required. The workshops offer the opportunity to play as part of a small band, rather than individual tuition.  This creates a fantastic opportunity to meet other young musicians and to learn and play together in a fun, relaxed and social music environment.

Open to children and young people aged 9 – 18 who attend a Stirling Council school.

Tutors: Kevin Mackenzie and Mario Caribe

Access Jazz Band (any instrument – 1 to 4 years’ experience of instrument) 5pm – 6pm
Tolbooth Jazz Band (any instrument – 4 plus years’ experience of instrument) 6pm – 7.15pm
