Since 2008, in partnership with the Tolbooth, Stirling, Amy Lord has been running the award nominated Scots Sang an Leid Projeck (Scots Song and Language Project) in Stirling council schools, and in Clackmannanshire since 2015. This project is funded by Creative Scotland’s YMI programme and gives children in Stirling Schools an introduction to Scots song and language through its rich heritage of music and song. The project is delivered by means of weekly workshops in school where children and teachers are given specially designed song and language workbooks as well as provided with an opportunity to perform the songs they’ve learned in the Tolbooth to friends and family, with support from some of Scotlands top traditional musicians.
