The exhibition will be entitled ‘A Tale Of Tolbooth’, and the theme for the exhibition will be Tolbooth through the ages. Each piece chosen for the exhibition should take inspiration from Tolbooth’s varied past or exciting present, details on Tolbooth’s colourful history and its position as a modern day cultural hub can be downloaded as part of the application form, but further independent research is welcomed. The artwork should be creatively ambitious, and for those who wish to submit a New Media piece Tolbooth’s in-house technology will be available for exhibition purposes, including the use of projection and digital screens.
The works will be shown in Tolbooth Gallery, with an accompanying bespoke musical score, commissioned by Tolbooth for the exhibition. The musical score will include the use of traditional Scottish instruments, as well an electronic elements and will strive to represent Tolbooth’s past, and its current place in the community.
We are inviting all artists aged 16 and over to apply to take part, and priority will be given to those from with the Stirling Council area. To be considered, you simply need to download and complete the short application form below telling us about the artwork you would like to create, and what the inspiration for the piece is, as well as submitting some examples of previous work.
